Q: If I am currently a Plus member, can I upgrade to the new, enhanced Plus program? A: Yes, you can upgrade at any time for just $20 more. Just call Membership Services at 1-800-527-7478.
Q: If I am a member of the enhanced Plus program, can I purchase additional MedFlash devices for my family? A: Yes, additional MedFlash devices can be purchased by enhanced Plus members for $20 each.
Q: If I am not an enhanced Plus member, can I buy the MedFlash device and not join Plus? A: Yes, you may purchase the MedFlash device for $29.99 each.
Q: How much information will the MedFlash device hold? A: The MedFlash device has 1 gigabyte (GB) capacity. We have found that the average user has information enough to use about five megabytes (MB), leaving plenty of room for your information.
Q: Is the MedFlash device ready to use as soon as I receive it? A: Yes, you may register the MedFlash device at any time. Just insert the MedFlash device into an available USB port on your computer and follow the installation instructions.
Q: Can my doctor update my MedFlash device? A: If your doctor’s office is willing, and you have your device with you, you can log in with your password and they can perform updates.
Q: Can the information on MedFlash be accidentally overwritten?
A: The latest version of MedFlash is stored to a web portal database. Not only is this safer, you have access to information even if you don’t have your MedFlash with you at www.mymedflash.com or thru the MedjetAssist Plus member site.
Q: Is MedFlash HIPPA compliant?
A: Yes, the MedFlash and web portal are 100% HIPAA compliant and secure using 128-bit encryption!
Q: Can I put the results of EKGs, MRI and x-rays on the MedFlash?
A: Yes, you can ask your doctor or lab to provide you with soft copy in a graphical format (jpeg, tiff, bitmap…). After you upload the file, you will be able to view them on www.mymedflash.com or thru the MedjetAssist Plus member site.
Q: Can I put my families’ information on the MedFlash?
A: Although MedFlash is not designed for multiple users, our newest version has an area for you to put in family member’s information. It is important, however, for each person to carry their own MedFlash device.
Q: Can I put information on my MedFlash that I don’t want anyone to see?
A: Yes, there is a lock next to each field and text box where you can enter data. If you want anything to be private you can lock that data. Don’t forget; if anything is important for an emergency responder to know about your health, it is best leaving it visible.
Q: How does the ambulance service or ER get information from the MedFlash device?
A: Most municipalities’ police and emergency vehicles are equipped with laptop computers. They would plug the MedFlash into a USB port and the information would be available to them. |
